For 80 years, MTC has done more than build equipment. We engineer, manufacture, install, and service the systems, solutions, and standards that power entire industries. What began in Chicago has grown into a 150,000‑square‑foot campus in Temple, Texas! Throughout that journey, MTC has stayed committed to innovation, growth, and helping customers Do More.

A Legacy That Started in 1946

MTC began in 1946 in Chicago with a simple idea. That idea was to engineer equipment that makes work safer, faster, and more reliable. That idea quickly turned into a reputation for craftsmanship and innovation; a reputation that still defines us today.

By 1950, MTC had already patented its first major piece of technology: the Dumper! That equipment would become foundational across food processing and material handling.

A New Home and a New Era

In 1977, MTC relocated to Temple, Texas, setting the stage for decades of expansion and industry leadership.

Just a few years later, in 1981, MTC launched its battery handling line. That addition made us a trusted partner for some of the world’s largest distribution centers and manufacturing operations.

Employee Ownership That Fuels Excellence

A decision that changed everything was 20-years later, in 1997. MTC became an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) company.

Employee ownership created an internal culture where people don’t just build equipment. The team takes pride in every weld, panel, system, and customer relationship. It’s why MTC’s equipment lasts, customers stay, and our team’s longevity is notable.

Growth That Matches Our Ambition

The last decade has been one of the most game-changing in MTC history.

  • 2020: MTC expanded by 40,000 square feet and brought operations onto a single campus.
  • 2024: We invested in a $2 million laser cutting machine, increasing precision, speed, and production capacity.
  • 2025: MTC acquired Sackett Systems, expanding our footprint and strengthening our battery handling leadership.
  • 2026: MTC celebrates 80 years in business! A milestone built on innovation, ownership, and customer trust.

Today, our 150,000‑square‑foot facility supports advanced engineering, fabrication, assembly, and testing, all at one location.

Engineering That Powers Two Demanding Sectors

Food Processing & Battery Handling

Major brands rely on MTC’s precision‑engineered systems to keep their operations safe, efficient, and consistent. From our long‑standing dumper technology to our high‑capacity battery handling solutions, every product we design, engineer, and manufacture is built to perform in demanding environments.

We are also known for our industry‑leading battery handling technologies such as, the Walk‑a‑Puller, Attach-a-Puller, and the Multi-Level Power Changer. These systems support some of the largest distribution centers and logistics operations in the world.

80 Years of Doing More

Across eight decades, one thing has never changed: when customers partner with us, they don’t just get equipment…they get the power to Do More.

More productivity.

More safety.

More reliability.

More confidence in every shift.

And as we celebrate 80 years, we’re not slowing down. We’re building the next generation of equipment, technology, and solutions that will power the next 80 and beyond.
