Description
In a fast-paced manufacturing environment, the PLC Programmer will provide PLC and HMI software development, commissioning, and supporting of new and active product installations. Work is done predominately utilizing Rockwell/Allen Bradley. The successful candidate will develop or assist drafters in developing the electrical design of products, using AutoCAD Electrical. The desired candidate should possess excellent communication skills.
Education and Experience
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related technical field or 5 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing setting. **Experience may supersede degree requirement.
Essential Functions
- Design and improve PLC & HMI Software for control systems.
- Work with complex PLC programs and electrical control systems.
- Communicates with Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales and Service to identify product specifications and electrical design specifications.
- VFD knowledge and configuration.
- Ability to successfully balance multiple concurrent assignments
- Design electrical control panels to meet NEC, NFPA 79, UL508A, and Safety Standards.
- Assist in both internal and customer acceptance testing of subject equipment.
- Requires excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to be applied in design, installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of material handling equipment.
- Attendance, present at scheduled shift to perform essential functions.
- Other duties may be assigned.
