DESCRIPTION

In a fast-paced manufacturing facility, the Machine Operator will load and unload parts into a Robotic Welder, monitor all functions of the robotic welder and ensure the welding process as well as the completed product meets desired specifications. The ideal Machine Operator will be able to program and operate the robotic welder(s), as well as finish out any weldments as needed with a MIG welding machine. The position requires the candidate to have exceptional attendance and attention to detail.  The use of hearing/eye protection is a requirement for this position. It also requires good oral communication skills, listening skills, positive attitude, ability to follow direction and the willingness to learn. The Machine Operator works independently and in cooperation with other employees. Must have the availability to work overtime when required; including but not limited to weekends.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Operates robotic welder(s), which join steel components to create weldments.
  2. Creates and/or adjusts robotic welding programs as needed.
  3. Gathers needed parts and installs appropriate fixtures into the robotic welder(s) for each job.
  4. Loads the machine(s), initiates the welding sequence, and observes visually/audibly for proper machine operation.
  5. Unloads weldments and verifies proper completion of the operation with appropriate measuring devices.
  6. Completes weldments as needed with MIG welding machine.
  7. Transfers components, metal products and assemblies using moving equipment to organize, and stack completed parts.
  8. Cleans and maintains work pieces, work area and welding machine parts, using various hand tools and equipment.
  9. Comply with Shop and Department Safety Rules and practices.
  10. Operates forklift truck, overhead cranes and hoists.
  11. Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  12. Other duties as assigned.
